On January 19, 2011, A.V. Prokhorenko, Member of St.Petersburg Government and Chairman of the Committee for External Relations, met at Smolny Ricardo Peydro Conde, Consul General of Spain in St.Petersburg.
They discussed the issues of running the events in St.Petersburg in 2011, related to the Year of Spain in Russia and Year of Russia in Spain.
Among the key events, there are opening the exhibition of the Prado Museum in the State Hermitage Museum in February, participation of Spain as the guest of honor at the St.Petersburg Economic Forum, concerts of classical and jazz music, cinema shows. Mr Conde also informed about the visit of «Juan Sebastian Elcano», training sailship of Royal Spanish Navy, to St.Petersburg in April 2011.
Petersburg part of the program will be represented by dedicated project by institutions of our city that has partners in Spain in various areas. In late March, the visit to St.Petersburg of the delegation of the twin city Barcelona is planned.
During the meeting, Mr Conde, Consul General of Spain, and A.V. Prokhorenko, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations, discussed the cooperation in the course of the program.
