    On 21-22 September 2016, St. Petersburg hosted the first meeting of the joint task group on cooperation between the Government of St. Petersburg and the Municipality of Budapest (Hungary)

    During the eventful program, the Budapest delegation met with the representatives of 12 committees of the Administration of St. Petersburg and the leaders of several large enterprises of the city. 

    The main purpose is to coordinate the joint action plans on the basis of agreements reached during the visit of the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko to Budapest in March of this year.

    During the eventful program, the Budapest delegation met with the representatives of 12 committees of the Administration of St. Petersburg and the leaders of several large enterprises of the city. The sides discussed issues of cooperation and exchange of experience between the cities in the following areas: cooperation in the sphere of municipal services, including transport, water supply and sanitation; economic cooperation; nonscientific cooperation, including culture, sports and youth policy; education.

    The final session on the results of the meetings, negotiations and visits to the enterprises of the city was held by the head of St. Petersburg task group, E.I. Kachaev, the Chairman of the Committee for Entrepreneurship and Consumer Market Development of St. Petersburg.

    Considering that the timing of the first meeting of the task group was occasioned with the St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum, the representatives of the business circles of Budapest met with St. Petersburg companies as part of the exchange of business contacts and exchange of subcontracts. At the exhibit booth "Global Partners of St. Petersburg", displayed at the St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum, there was an information desk of Budapest Enterprise Agency (Budapest Public Foundation for Enterprise Development).

    In December 2015, during a visit to St. Petersburg, Budapest Municipality delegation headed by the Mayor Istvan Tarlos signed an agreement on cooperation between the Government of St. Petersburg, the Russian Federation and the Municipality of Budapest, Hungary. In accordance with the Agreement the following priority areas are identified: cooperation in the sphere of municipal services; economic cooperation; nonscientific cooperation; education.  
    The delegation of St. Petersburg visited Budapest in March 2016 to discuss the prospects for the implementation of specific projects. The delegation was headed by the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko. During the visit, it was decided to establish a joint task group.
