    On 7 April 2016, the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library held a conference "200 years of consular presence of Switzerland in St. Petersburg"

    The conference was attended by the heads and staff of profile committees of the Administration of St. Petersburg (the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, Committee for Nature Use, Environmental Protection and Ecological Safety, the Committee for Science and Higher Education and the Committee for Investment of Saint-Petersburg).

    The conference participants discussed four topics:
    - The role of Switzerland in the international context: bilateral relations, foreign interests to be accepted by Switzerland; Switzerland's role as a host of international conferences; achievements in the field of mediation.
    - Economic relations between Switzerland and Russia: Swiss investment; innovative technologies; clean technologies and Russian investment in Switzerland.
    - Scientific relations between Switzerland and Russia: bilateral cooperation between universities; grants; student exchanges and co-financing of research programs.
    - Cultural relations between Russian and Swiss cultural institutions.

    The conference was organized by the Consulate General of Switzerland in St. Petersburg.

    The event was held with the support of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, Switzerland Tourism Office in Moscow and Hospitality Business and Culinary Arts School "Swissam St. Petersburg"
