Participants were welcomed by the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Nicaragua in the Russian Federation Alba Torres Mejia. She noted the importance of General Sandino personality in the history of Nicaragua and talked about Nicaragua prospects of economic, social, cultural and other spheres.
The Rector of UNECON I.A. Maksimtsev appeared in the course of the ceremony. "We are always ready to assist the organization of such meetings, and we hope the cooperation and friendship between our two countries will only grow stronger ", – Igor Maksimtsev assured the audience.
The gala evening was attended by the military cadets from Nicaragua, who are studying in St. Petersburg, as well as UNECON students.
