    19 – 20 May 2016 St. Petersburg was visited by a delegation of Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons of Great Britain, headed by the Chairman of the Committee Mr. C. Blunt

    During the visit to Smolny, the Chairman of the Committee for External Relations  of St. Petersburg E.D. Grigoriev  met British parliamentarians. The sides discussed the strengthening cooperation in the business and academic spheres.

    During the visit to Smolny, the Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg E.D. Grigoriev met British parliamentarians. The sides discussed the strengthening cooperation in the business and academic spheres. At the end of the event, Evgeny Grigoriev presented the delegation with a collection of articles "St. Petersburg – the United Kingdom", published with the support of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg and dedicated to the history and current issues of bilateral cooperation.

    Also, the British delegation met with the Director of the State Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky, the leadership of ITMO University, representatives of business and public organizations of St. Petersburg.

    In memory of the defenders of besieged Leningrad who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 (II World War), the delegation laid flowers at Piskaryovsky Memorial.
