    St. Petersburg delegation led by Maxim Meyksin, Chairman of the Committee for Industrial Policy and Innovations participated in the summit of the Baltic Development Forum on 3-4 June 2014

    Maxim Meyksin invited the event participants to the Innovation Forum to be held on 1-3 October 2014 in St. Petersburg.

    St. Petersburg delegation led by Maxim Meyksin, Chairman of the Committee for Industrial Policy and Innovations participated in the summit of the Baltic Development Forum  on 3-4 June 2014. Speaking at the Forum, Maxim Meyksin noted that cooperation between St. Petersburg and Turku had been developing in many areas: “Today pharmaceuticals, shipbuilding and innovations are among perspective spheres of our interaction. Tourism also has the serious growth potential". "Our regions are in similar economic conditions: we cannot compete with the countries of South East Asia in producing mass products, but we can develop cooperation in the areas where high level of the competence is required. First of all, the perspective directions are the innovative start-ups support, creation of the joint competence centres, R&D and engineering centres», - Maxim Meyksin noted. It is the innovation sphere in which St.Petersburg and Finland have been cooperating successfully for a long time. Annually Finnish companies take an active part in the St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum which has already proved to be   an effective platform for the exchange of opinion and experience in innovative sphere. Maxim Meyksin invited the event participants to the Innovation Forum to be held on 1-3 October 2014 in St. Petersburg.

    Mr. Hans Brask, Denmark has been the Forum`s Director since 2007. The BDF Secretariat is located in Copenhagen (Denmark). The Secretariat`s location: Copenhagen, Denmark. The 15th Baltic Development Forum was held in Riga in 2013. It was attended by government officials, representatives of business, scientific and educational circles, including the President of Latvia Andris Berzinsh, the Prime Minister of Lithuania Algirdas Butkyavichyus, the Prime Minister of Estonia Andrus Ansipb, the Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers Dagfinn Heybrotenbb, the Minister for European Affairs of Denmark Nikolay Vammen, Assistant to the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation Russian to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg Igor Kapyrin and others.
