They focused on such areas as preservation of cultural heritage and ecology of culture; support for youth exchanges and initiatives; encouraging of young people`s participation in volunteers projects and voluntary work; cooperation of higher education institutions and development of student, teacher and school exchange.
Delegations of 13 cities of Eastern Europe and Balkan Peninsula, representatives of scientific and cultural community, in particular directors of national ethnographic and historical museums participated in the event. Representatives of Slavic cities signed the St. Petersburg Declaration during the meeting with the Governor of St.Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko in Smolny on December 10th, 2013.
