The organizers of the international conference were North-Western Institute of Management (NWIM) of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RPANEPA), the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC IPA), and the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg.

On October 24 the opening ceremony of the conference took place at the building of EurAsEC IPA. Mr. P.B. Zverev, the Executive Secretary of the Interparliamentary Assembly of EurAsEC and Mr. V.A. Shamakhov, the Director of the Institute greeted the participants of the conference.
The conference brought together more than 100 scientists from around the world, including the representatives of international organizations such as the UN, CIS, EurAsEC, heads of federal and regional authorities of the Russian Federation, the representatives of higher education institutions and research centers of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, France , Italy, China and Israel.
On the second day of the conference within 6 breakout sessions there were discussions on various aspects of the development of the integration process in the Eurasian region.
The conference also comprised:
- Presentation of the Center for Eurasian Studies (Director of the Center - A.V.Vovenda);
- Presentation of the Eurasian Youth Assembly;
- Training seminar on problems of international trade facilitation (the seminar was conducted by Mr. M. Apostolov, the Regional Adviser of the United Nations Economic Commission);
- Roundtable discussion – the Video conference with the Odessa Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine - "Doctoral research in Russia and Ukraine in the field of public administration".
