    Cultural and business mission of St. Petersburg in the Netherlands. In the period from 15 to 18 October 2013 the cultural and business mission of St. Petersburg in the Netherlands was held

     The delegation was headed by Mr. A.V.Prohorenko, the Member of St. Petersburg Government - the Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg.

    On October 16 a flower-laying ceremony took place at the Soviet Field of Glory, military memorial cemetery in Amersfoort, held by members of a delegation from St. Petersburg.

    St. Petersburg business community representatives and representatives of the following committees participated in the visit: Traffic Committee, St. Petersburg Industrial Policy and Innovations Committee, St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee, Committee for Communications and Information Technology, St. Petersburg Culture Committee. Within the framework of the business part of the visit there were meetings of the delegation members with the management of International Congress and Convention Association, with the representatives of Amsterdam Biomedical Cluster housed by Amsterdam Economic Commission.

    Round tables on cooperation in the field of traffic and logistics, pharmaceutics and medicine, communications and information technologies took place in Rotterdam with participation of I.A. Shalyto, the deputy chairman of  the St. Petersburg Industrial Policy and Innovations Committee, D.P. Chamara, the deputy chairman of  the Committee for Communications and Information Technology, and A.V. Lysin, the deputy chairman of  the Traffic Committee.

    A.V. Prohorenko held conversations with Ms. K. Gerels, vice mayor of Amsterdam for culture, social policy and sport. Ms. K. Brurs, director of Hermitage-Amsterdam Exhibition Centre, acquainted the delegation with the exhibit of the museum complex. A meeting of the representatives of the St. Petersburg Culture Committee, the management of the State Hermitage and the representatives of the Amsterdam museum community on the questions of cooperation in the field of culture took place in the Hermitage. On October 17 a ceremonial meeting, dedicated to cooperation of St. Petersburg and Rotterdam, with participation of A. Abutaleba, the mayor, A.V. Prohorenko, A.N. Cherevko, the trade representative of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, took place in the Rotterdam Mayor’s Office.

    Upon completion of the meeting, the ceremony of signing the Minutes of Council Formation for Collaboration between St. Petersburg Rotterdam  took place. In the Hague World Trade Centre, in the presence of Mr. H. Kool, the Hague’s Deputy Mayor, and Mr. D.P. Chamara, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Information and Communication, the opening of RUSSOFT’s representative office in the Kingdom of the Netherlands took place. The cultural program of the mission included the concert of opera soloists of Mariinsky Theater which was held in the concert hall of Hermitage-Amsterdam, in the Rotterdam Mayor’s Office the first performance of music heritage project “LENORE. Ballad Revival”. The conducter was maestro F. Mastrangelo.
