    On July, 16-19 Saint Petersburg hosted a delegation from Venice led by Mayor Giorgio Orsoni

    The delegation incuded businessmen and cultural figures, such as the management of the “Confindustria” association, which embraces industrial enterprises, service companies and banking organizations of the Venice province and the Veneto region, the Secretary General of Hermitage-Italy Foundation M.Cecconi and the honorary consul of Russia in Venice E.Paties Montagner.

    The delegation incuded businessmen and cultural figures, such as the management of the “Confindustria” association, which embraces industrial enterprises, service companies and banking organizations of the Venice province and the Veneto region, the Secretary General of Hermitage-Italy Foundation M.Cecconi and the honorary consul of Russia in Venice E.Paties Montagner.

    On July, 18th during the visit the State Hermitage and the Mayor´s office of Venice signed a protocol of intentions, which supposes the establishment of the scientific and cultural centre “Hermitage-Italy” in Venice, though before the centre had been situated in Ferrara.

    On July, 18th the Smolny palace was a meeting place for the Governor of Saint Petersburg G.S.Poltavchenko and the Mayor of Venice Giorgio Orsoni. During this meeting the leaders exchanged their views on the future cooperation taking into account the development of economic, business (small and medium), cultural and touristic contacts, as well as the mutual Tourism years between Russia and Italy (in 2014). The parties agreed on the elaboration of a three-year Cooperaton program for the cities. The Mayor of Venice invited the Saint Petersburg delegation to take part in a meeting of Venice´s sister-cities in the middle of October 2013.

    At the end of the meeting G.S.Poltavchenko and G.Orsoni signed a Declaration of fraternization between Saint Petersburg (Russian Federation) and Venice (the Italian Republic). The Declaration complemented the cooperation agreement now in force between Saint Petersburg and Venice signed in 2006 and became another document which strengthens their relations.

    On July, 19th the Saint Petersburg Chamber of commerce and industry and the Saint Petersburg Union of industrialists and entrepreneurs hosted a meeting between businessmen from Saint Petersburg and Venice.
