    Meeting with the new Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in St. Petersburg, Mr. Ji Yanchi

    On 12th April, the St. Petersburg Government member, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Committee for External Relations Alexander Prokhorenko met with the new Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in St. Petersburg, Mr. Ji Yanchi.

    On 12th April, the St. Petersburg Government member, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Committee for External Relations Alexander Prokhorenko met with the new Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in St. Petersburg, Mr. Ji Yanchi.

    Alexander Prokhorenko noted that St. Petersburg is open for extensive contacts with China. According to his words, today, our city has Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation with Beijing, Shanghai and Qingdao, in the near future is expected to sign similar documents with the Guangzhou Province and the Shenzhen city.

    In the course of talks parties discussed about the Chinese investment project "Baltic Pearl" and the G-20 Summit (St. Petersburg, September, 2013), wherein the People's Republic of China leaders will take part. Lastly, Alexander Prokhorenko expressed hope for success of Ji Yanchi mission in St. Petersburg.

    Developed partnerships between St. Petersburg and Manchester. On 1-3 April 2013, the Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester) delegation visited St. Petersburg. Delegation visited the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, St. Petersburg N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Musical College, State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg, Prince G.V. Golitsyn Memorial Library and the Consulate General of Great Britain. In the course of talks parties discussed possible joint projects, including ones within the framework of the Cultural Cross-Year of Great Britain - Russia 2014.
