    A Conversation of G.S.Poltavchenko, Governor of St.Petersburg, and Mr Jussi Pajunen, Mayor of Helsinki

    On October 13, 2011, a conversation of G.S.Poltavchenko, Governor of St.Petersburg, and Mr Jussi Pajunen, Mayor of Helsinki, took place at Smolny.

    On October 13, 2011, a conversation of G.S.Poltavchenko, Governor of St.Petersburg, and Mr Jussi Pajunen, Mayor of Helsinki, took place at Smolny.

    Jussi Pajunen arrived in St.Petersburg to attend the activities of the Days of Helsinki, run in St.Petersburg since October 5.

    During the meeting, the issues of bilateral cooperation were dicsussed, involving the areas of tourism, transport, and environmental safety. The heads of both cities expressed their desire to develop the scope of scientific cooperation, including the exchanges of students and scientists.

    It was agreed to jointly arrange and run in April 2012 the celebration of the bicentenary of Helsinki as the capital of Finland, as well as the Days of St.Petersburg in Helsinki, scheduled for 2013.

    St.Petersburg Governor also expressed his wish to have an opportunity to visit Helsinki this winter, in order to study the experience of snow removal in the historic downtown.
