    St.Petersburg Hosted a Round Table on “Planning, Design, and Construction of Modern Transport Infrastructure”

    On October 3, 2011, the round table “Planning, Design, and Construction of Modern Transport Infrastructure” took place at Smolny, in the framework of events devoted to the 50th anniversary of the partnership of St.Petersburg and Dresden.

    On October 3, 2011, the round table “Planning, Design, and Construction of Modern Transport Infrastructure” took place at Smolny, in the framework of events devoted to the 50th anniversary of the partnership of St.Petersburg and Dresden.

    The event was attended by S.V.Popov, Chairman of St.Petersburg Transport Committee, and I.O.Lonskiy, Deputy Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations. German delegation was headed by Dirk Hilbert, First Mayor of Dresden. A place of honour in the presidium was occupied by Stefan Zugat, Chief Architect of Dresden. Exchange of experience was initiated by a Dresden company “A+S Consult” that had been successfully working in St.Petersburg for several years. The event was also attended by St.Petersburg enterprises “Gorelectrotrans”, “Organizator Perevozok”, “Petersburg-Dorservice”, and other.

    From the German side, the participants were the heads of leading enterprises in Dresden dealing in the area of transport infrastructure: “EIBS”, “Schussler-Plan”, “Baugrund Dresden”. Rainer Ziehschank, Chairman of the Directorial Board of “DVB AG” (organization of public transport in Dresden), presented the latest developments for a modern metropolis. The German side told about the problems associated with the organization of transport services, for example, the lack of the tickets valid for all kinds of transport because of the difficulties of organizing the redistribution of the income between the operators.
