    A Round Table on “The Real Ways To Modernize the Urban Infrastructure of the Megacities”

    On September 29, 2011, within the confines of IV Petersburg International Innovation Forum, the round-table “The Real Ways To Modernize the Urban Infrastructure of the Megacities” was run with the participation of Russian, Japanese, and USA experts.

    On September 29, 2011, within the confines of IV Petersburg International Innovation Forum, the round-table “The Real Ways To Modernize the Urban Infrastructure of the Megacities” was run with the participation of Russian, Japanese, and USA experts.

    During it, Hideyuki Yamato, Chief Consultant of the Institute “Nomura”, considered possible ways to modernize the infrastructure of Russian cities by implementing the concept of urban infrastructure accustomed in Japan and mentioned the latest trends for the development of infrastructure of industrial zones in St.Petersburg.

    Umetsu Tetsuya, Head of St.Petersburg Representative Office of “Jethro”, a Japanese organization for the development of foreign trade, suggested in his presentation an innovative high-tech project for snow removal.

    M.Taylor, Vice President of USA-based company Honeywell, made a review of modern urban energy-providing technologies that answered the question “Why do the latest developments overtake the actual practice?”, and analyzed the opportunity to change the situation by entering into an energy service contract and through a productive and reasonable funding.

    Further to the round table, S.A.Kozyrev, Vice-Governor of St.Petersburg, and M.Taylor, Vice President of USA-based company Honeywell, signed in Smolny a Protocol of Cooperation.
