    Shanghai Delegation Visited St.Petersburg

    On August 25, 2011, a Shanghai delegation, headed by Mr. Yang Syun, First Deputy Mayor, had at Smolny a conversation with Mikhail Oseevskiy, Vice-Governor of St.Petersburg, Head of St.Petersburg Governor Administration, within the confines of its visit to St.Petersburg.

    At the meeting, the Russian side was represented by Yuriy Molchanov, Vice-Governor of St.Petersburg, Alexander Prokhorenko, Member of St.Petersburg Government, Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, and Alexei Chichkanov, Chairman of the Committee for Investments and Strategic Projects.

    The sides discussed promising directions of further cooperation between the partner cities in the economic and investment spheres, as well as the issues related to the implementation of strategic investment project “Baltic Pearl” in Krasnoselskiy District.

    Michael Oseevsky highly esteemed the potential of the economic plans of St.Petersburg and China and invited Chinese businessmen to follow the Shanghai Overseas Investment Joint Stock Company in participating the implementation of investment projects in our city.

    First Vice-Mayor of Shanghai mentioned the great help and support of St.Petersburg Government concerning the project “Baltic Pearl”. According to Mr Yang Syun, its successful implementation is to give a signal to other companies in Shanghai and China to invest in St.Petersburg.
