    Events Concerning St.Petersburg Took Place in Scotland

    On July 10 through 12, 2011, the events aimed at promoting the interaction between St.Petersburg and Scotland were held in Scotland, with the support of the Committee for External Relations and the Committee for Culture.

    On July 10 through 12, 2011, the events aimed at promoting the interaction between St.Petersburg and Scotland were held in Scotland, with the support of the Committee for External Relations and the Committee for Culture.

    A presentation of economic and cultural potential of St.Petersburg, as well as the performance by Grad-Quartet from St.Petersburg and the soloist V. Vyurov, winner of the theatrical award “Golden Soffit were arranged on on board the sailing ship “Mir” that called to the town of Greenock because of the international sailing regatta “The Tall Ships` Races”.

    Within the framework of cooperation with Edinburgh, there was a meeting with G. Grubb, Lord Provost of Edinburgh, and thr representatives of the City Council of Edinburgh. There were also meetings with representatives of the National Museum of Scotland, of the Russian Center named after Ekaterina Dashkova, of University of Edinburgh and of the Institute of Scotland –Russia. At Edinburgh University, a concert of a St.Petersburg orchestra was performed.
