    The Delegation of St.Petersburg Visited Turkmenistan

    On July 10 through 12, 2011, an official delegation of St.Petersburg, led by St.Petersburg Governor V.I. Matvienko, visited Turkmenistan. The delegation included V.A .Yuzhilin, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, A.V. Prokhorenko, Member of St.Petersburg Government, Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, and representatives of business circles of St.Petersburg.

    On July 10 through 12, 2011, an official delegation of St.Petersburg, led by St.Petersburg Governor V.I. Matvienko, visited Turkmenistan. The delegation included V.A .Yuzhilin, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, A.V. Prokhorenko, Member of St.Petersburg Government, Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, and representatives of business circles of St.Petersburg.

    During the visit, on July 11 the meeting of St.Petersburg Governor V.I. Matvienko and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, was awarded an honorary badge «For Merits to St.Petersburg». An agreement on economic, scientific and cultural cooperation of St.Petersburg Government (Russian Federation) and the Government of Turkmenistan was signed.

    On July 12, a viaduct in the City of Turkmenbashi (the national tourist zone «Avaza») was solemnly opened. The opening was attended by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, and the members of St.Petersburg delegation.
