On July 11, 2011, a conversation of E.I. Elin, Chairman of the Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade, and J. Conomos, authorized representative in the automotive sector, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research of Australia, was held, prepared by St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations.
The sides discussed the issues of organizing the production process at car factories of St.Petersburg and Australia. During the meeting, J. Conomos invited to consider an opportunity to organize a research and production practices on the basis of specialized institutes in Australia for the engineers and young researchers from St.Petersburg. In addition, the parties agreed to facilitate the direct contact between developers and manufacturers of car components.
As a result of the discussions, the elaboration of joint activities in 2012 was agreed.
