    St.Petersburg is Developing Cooperation with Shanghai

    On June 23, 2011, Alexander Prokhorenko, Member of St.Petersburg Government, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations, had a conversation with Mr. Dong Jiungshu, Member of the CPC Standing Committee of Shanghai, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee at CPC Municipal Party Committee of Shanghai, at Smolny.

    On June 23, 2011, Alexander Prokhorenko, Member of St.Petersburg Government, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations, had a conversation with Mr. Dong Jiungshu, Member of the CPC Standing Committee of Shanghai, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee at CPC Municipal Party Committee of Shanghai, at Smolny.

    The meeting focused on developing mutually beneficial cooperation between the cities in such areas as economy, tourism, stevedoring operations, attracting the investments. According to Alexander Prokhorenko, St.Petersburg is an open city, which is always pleased to receive friends and guests, especially from Shanghai - the oldest partner city in China.

    A.Prokhorenko also stressed that the “Baltic Pearl” is the largest construction project in the Northern capital of Russia, and on its completion, the city will have a real pearl, worth the pride of Petersburgers and Shanghai people.

    Mr Dong Jiungshu, in his turn, stressed the positive role played by the “Baltic Pearl” in the development of friendly and business interaction of St.Petersburg and Shanghai, and expressed his gratitude for the help and support to the project implementation.
