    European Maritime Day Held in Gdansk

    On May 19-20, 2011, the European Maritime Day was held in Gdansk, organized by the Municipality of Gdansk in conjunction with the European Commission, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland, Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal’s Office.

    On May 19-20, 2011, the European Maritime Day was held in Gdansk, organized by the Municipality of Gdansk in conjunction with the European Commission, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland, Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal’s Office.

    As a holiday, the European Maritime Day celebration was secured by a Declaration, signed in 2008 by the President of European Parliament, European Commission President and the President of the European Council in Strasbourg. The official celebration is held annually on May 20 in various European countries.

    The program of the European Maritime Day included IV Tourism Forum of the Baltic Sea “Tourism, Uniting the Baltic Sea Countries ”, organized in Sopot on May 17 through 19 by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Poland, Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal’s Office, and the City Hall of Sopot.

    The events of the European Maritime Day were attended by a delegation of St.Petersburg, composed of representatives of the Committee on Transport-Transit Policy, the Committee for External Relations, the Office of Tourism at the Committee on Investments and Strategic Projects.
