    Visit of a Delegation of Journalists from Uzbekistan

    On May 1 through 5, 2011, by the invitation of the Union of Journalists of St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region and the editorial office of the Independent Uzbek newspaper “PeterburgUz”, a delegation of journalists from Ferghana Region of Uzbekistan visited St.Petersburg.

    On May 1 through 5, 2011, by the invitation of the Union of Journalists of St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region and the editorial office of the Independent Uzbek newspaper “PeterburgUz”, a delegation of journalists from Ferghana Region of Uzbekistan visited St.Petersburg.

    During the visit, the journalists visited Piskarevskoe Memorial Cemetery and laid the wreaths at the Monument to Motherland. Also, meetings were held at the Journalists Union of St.Petersburg, at the offic of newspaper “Vesti”, as well as a visit to St.Petersburg House of Nationalities.

    On May 3, 2011, the delegation of journalists met at Smolny with S.L. Markov, Deputy Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations. During the meeting, S.L. Markov told the guests about the implementation of the St.Petersburg Program “Tolerance”, on the condition and prospects of cooperation between St.Petersburg and Uzbekistan, and invited to take part in various activities undertaken by the Committee.
