On March 28 through April 2, 2011, the delegation of St.Petersburg, headed by A.S.Maksimov, Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education, visited Isfahan to participate in the events of First Festival of Twin Cities, by the invitation of the City Hall of Isfahan (Islamic Republic of Iran).
On March 28 through April 2, 2011, the delegation of St.Petersburg, headed by A.S.Maksimov, Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education, visited Isfahan to participate in the events of First Festival of Twin Cities, by the invitation of the City Hall of Isfahan (Islamic Republic of Iran).
On March 30, 2011, the Fist Festival of Twin Cities of Isfahan was opened at the Museum of Modern Art. St.Petersburg was represented at the Festival via an exhibition that included the display of paintings by contemporary artists and masters of applied art, photo exhibition of St.Petersburg, and the information booth on tourism opportunities in our city.
During the visit, the delegation members met with A.A.Sadovnikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr Mortaza Saghaeian Nejad, Mayor of Isfahan, the directorial boards of the Isfahan University and the Office for Tourism of Isfahan, etc.
State Paedagogical University named after A.I.Herzen and the Isfahan University jointly signed the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation, planning to provide the practical assistance for the Isfahan University to organize the studying of Russian language in order to create the Department of Russian Language and Culture afterwards.
