On March 10 and 11, 2011, a session of the VASAB Committee (Vision and Strategies around the Baltic Sea) was held in St.Petersburg with the assistance of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations. The members of the Committee include representatives from various ministries of the Baltic Sea Rim countries.
Cooperation within the confines of this organization is one of the priorities of multilateral interaction in the region, aimed at solving the urgent issues of spatial and territorial planning.
The session discussed the results of the annual VASAB conference “An Integrated Approach to the Development of Spatial Planning in Europe – the Importance of Territorial Unity”, the coherent activity of VASAB and HELCOM in the area of maritime spatial planning, and others.
