    A Session of the Joint Monitoring Committee of the South-East Finland – Russia Program for European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument

    On November 11 and 12, 2010, the fourth session of the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) Cross Border Cooperation in South-East Finland – Russia took place in Helsinki, under the Program for European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument. The session was attended by the representatives of the St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations.

    On November 11 and 12, 2010, the fourth session of the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) Cross Border Cooperation in South-East Finland – Russia took place in Helsinki, under the Program for European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument. The session was attended by the representatives of the St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations.

    The session resulted in the Joint Monitoring Committee approval of the first 12 projects in the area of economic development, business cooperation, transport and logistics, and environmental protection. The approved projects are to be audited by the EU Commission, to avoid the JMC-approved projects replication of another projects already underway, concerning cross-border cooperation . The final results of the selection of the projects will be announced in December 2010.

    Besides, the Joint Monitoring Committee made several amendments to the Joint Work Program and discussed the plan for 2011.

    The Joint Monitoring Committee also decided that the second round to submit the project applications will take place on January 17 through April 15, 2011. In this regard, the opening of the Information Office of the Program of South-East Finland – Russia in St.Petersburg is scheduled for January. All information on the criteria, deadlines for project applications, and the documents package of an applicant, including the Guidelines for applicants and other necessary documents, will be posted on the website of the South-East Finland – Russia Program on January 17, 2011. Information seminars concerning the submission of project proposals in the second round will be held in late January 2011.
