    Delegation of Jewish Federation of North America Visited St.Petersburg

    On October 7, 2010, V.I. Matvienko, Governor of St.Petersburg, met in Smolny with the Delegation of the Jewish Federation of North America (JFNA), headed by J. Tauber and L. Crone, Chairmen, and J. Silverman, CEO.

    On October 7, 2010, V.I. Matvienko, Governor of St.Petersburg, met in Smolny with the Delegation of the Jewish Federation of North America (JFNA), headed by J. Tauber and L. Crone, Chairmen, and J. Silverman, CEO.

    JFNA is an influential Association of Jewish communities in the U.S. with the headquarters in New York, which includes a number of large U.S. entrepreneurs.
    The delegation includes 70 members who are leaders of Jewish communities in the United States and hold important positions in the organizations and financial and academic circles in the U.S., which annually assign over 3 million dollars on social welfare, education, medical care, humanitarian programs in the U.S., Israel and more than 60 countries worldwide.

    Among the objectives of the trip was the exploration of the possibilities to expand the economic cooperation, including participation in the program of technological modernization, intensification of cooperation with the Jewish community of St.Petersburg and Russia.

    During the meeting, V.I. Matvienko, Governor of St.Petersburg, highlighted the priority issues of economic development of St.Petersburg, social and national policies, and international cooperation involving St.Petersburg, including the United States of America. V.I. Matvienko, Governor of St.Petersburg, also answered numerous questions of the leaders and members of the delegation regarding the promisimg future directions of possible cooperation.
