On March 3 through 4, 2010, Susan Heird, Deputy Executive Director of UK Trade & Investment Department at the British Government, visited St.Petersburg.
Within the framework of the visit, S. Heird met with M.E. Oseevskiy, Vice-Governor of St.Petersburg, A.B. Chichkanov, Chairman of the Committee for Investments and Strategic Projects, N.A. Asaul, Chairman of the Committee for Transport and Transit Policy, I.O. Lonskiy, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for External Relations.
During the meeting, Ms Heird got acquainted with the experience of St.Petersburg in addressing the issues of economic development and coordination of policies on taxation, finances, industry, and technology, and with the role of foreign companies in the strategic development of the city. The parties also shared the experience in implementing projects in the period of global economic recession and introducing the advanced mechanisms for PPP in financing and attracting investment.
S. Heird visited the airport “Pulkovo II” and met with representatives of British companies operating in St.Petersburg.
