    Ms T. Halonen, President of the Republic of Finland, Met with the Leaders of the Group of Finnish Advisers at the Government of St.Petersburg

    On January 19, 2009, Ms T. Halonen, President of the Republic of Finland, met in Helsinki (Finland) with the leaders of the Group of Finnish Advisers at the Government of St.Petersburg.

    On January 19, 2009, Ms T. Halonen, President of the Republic of Finland, met in Helsinki (Finland) with the leaders of the Group of Finnish Advisers at the Government of St.Petersburg.

    The Group of Finnish advisers (GFA) is an informal association of representatives of major Finnish companies that operates under the Government of St. Petersburg since 1997. The main objective of GFS is to promote a favourable investment climate in St.Petersburg to attract foreign and Russian capital.

    The conversation with President Halonen was attended by the coordinators of GFA: A. Blom, Chairman of the managing Board of “Eurofacts”, President of the Finnish Union of Family Business, on behalf of Finland, and A.V. Prokhorenko, Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, as well as M.Ya. Semchenko, General Director of ZAO “Evrofacts”, on behalf of Russia.

    During the meeting, the issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, as well as the future plans of partnership of St.Petersburg and Finland and the participation of GFA in the expected joint activities.

    On January 19, a scheduled meeting of the GFS was also held in Helsinki, at which A.V. Prokhorenko summarized the results of the Group’s work in the last year, and an action plan of the Group of Finnish Advisers for 2010 was agreed and adopted, taking into account the proposals of the Finnish side.
