    New Library of the German Cultural Center in St.Petersburg

    On December 1, 2009, the German Cultural Center hosted the gala opening of a new library.

    On December 1, 2009, the German Cultural Center hosted the gala opening of a new library.

    The library that operated at the Goethe Institute before was renovated and provided with new equipment and furniture. Now, not only books and journals are available to the readers, but also multimedia CDs and Internet information sources.

    German-language students are offered with novice-friendly texts for reading, and other training materials. At the «Self-Training Center» of the library, the visitors also can learn German on their own. For the teachers of German language, there are modern educational aids and materials on didactics and teaching methods.

    The library will regularly held thematic exhibitions on books and other materials.

    The library now allows many of the materials to be taken at home.
