Traditionally, the World Congresses of Cryosurgery are conducted only once per country, which underscores the uniqueness of the case, due to which the Russia's doctors can learn from foreign experts who have perfectly mastered the advanced high technologies.

During the congress, the issues of history, and problems and prospects of Cryomedicine were discussed; the remote and the comparative results were considered of traditional and modern cryogenic technology of minimal invasion used in oncology, urology, gynaecology, neurosurgery, dermatology, surgery, mammology, traumatology, and other medical disciplines.

For the first time ever, a special session of the Congress was devoted to local and general cryotherapy: using the low temperatures in otolaryngology, cosmetology, physiotherapy and general therapeutic practice.

The congress was attended by about 250 doctors and scientists.
