The opening of a children's art exhibition «Gogol's Characters through the Eyes of Children» took place at St.Petersburg State University «St.Petersburg House of Nationalities» on May 21.

    Organizers: St.Petersburg regional public organization «Poltava Community», Ukrainian national-cultural autonomy in St.Petersburg, St.Petersburg State University «St.Petersburg House of Nationalities».

The exhibition «Gogol's Characters through the Eyes of Children» is quite up-to-date not only because it starts its operation in the year of bicentenary of the great writer, equally honoured in the cultures of Ukraine, Russia, and the whole world, but also because it is timed to the Day of Slavonic Literature and Culture, which Slavonic peoples celebrate on May 24.

The drawings presented at the exhibition at the House of Nationalities offer a childish, but not at all naive notion on the literary works of Gogol, who is familiar to everyone from the school years.

The exhibition will remain open until the beginning of the autumn, the address: 15 Mokhovaya St.
