The solemn inauguration of the festive year «Finland in St.Petersburg – 200 years» was rendered at the St. Mary Church in St.Petersburg on March 29, 2009, attended by T.Halonen, President of Republic Finland, and V.I.Matvienko, Governor of St.Petersburg. After the inauguration, the guests visited a concert of Finnish music performed by chamber orchestra «Avanti». The program of celebrating this anniversary is quite extensive and lists a considerable number of events.
