    Gilian Gyorgy, the Newly-Appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Republic of Hungary in Russian Federation, Visited St.Petersburg on February 18 through 20, 2009

    Within the confines of the visit, a meeting with top business and scientific institutions of Hungary took place at the hotel «Novotel» on February 18, and the Agreement on Cooperation was signed by the St.Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation and the Budapest Technological and Economic University.

    Within the confines of the visit, a meeting with top business and scientific institutions of Hungary took place at the hotel «Novotel» on February 18, and the Agreement on Cooperation was signed by the St.Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation and the Budapest Technological and Economic University.

    The meeting was attended by E.V.Lukyanov, Plenipotentiary Representative of President of Russian Federation in the North-Western Federal District, A.V.Kuznetsov, Vice-Governor of Leningrad Region, I.V.Ilyukhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade, and by the representatives of appropriate committees of St.Petersburg.

    The participants got acquainted with the activities of the companies and research institutions of Hungary: «Alpha Bus» Ltd, «Gedeon Richter», «VERTES Electronics» Ltd, «OTP Bank», MEHIB Ltd, Eximbank Ltd, «Egis», Hungarian Agency for Development of Investments and Trade, Budapest Technological and Economic University, Research Institute for Nanotechnology, etc.

    M.Oseevskiy, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, met in Smolny with Gilian Gyorgy, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Hungary to Russia, on February 19, and during this meeting the sides discussed the prospects of cooperation of Hungary and St.Petersburg, as well as the effects of global crisis on the economy of the two countries.

    Physico-Technical Institute at Russian Academy of Sciences named after A.F.Ioffe held the negotiations with Nanotechnological Research Institute of applied research of public fund named after Bay Zoltán, Republic of Hungary, concerning the possibility of signing an agreement on cooperation in the area of nanotechnology.
